Great Grandma's Farm Ride, Apr 6 2014
85 or so riders emerged from a nasty nasty winter during which there was little opportunity for riding, to brave a cold wind at the start of this challenging ride (which seemed a good idea at the time of scheduling). Even a tandem (wait ... a tandem on the Great Grandma's Farm Ride? - yes and what a tandem - it was Wolfgang and Rebecca on their new Calfee - it was the talk of the ride). And a few hard men rode in shorts (we applaud you). However, once we were in the little lanes and backroads the sun was stronger, muscles warmed up and layers were shed. The many hills and even the Burlingame Road challenge were met (or not). Returning riders, both fast and slow, seemed pleased and happy that the long hibernation was over and they were at last RIDING AGAIN! No spring flowers were out yet, but the little river dams were sparkling in the sun and the peepers were out!
