My sympathies to all who endured the heat on yesterday's Diamond Hill One ride, especially those who, like me, rode the 50 mile route. (Yeah, no one saw me, but I was there, just late as usual.) At the 30/50 cutoff, I felt comfortable, what with the sun hidden above the heavy haze, and the ride mostly along shady forest roads, so I chose the 50. When the sun broke through, and the return ride more in the open, I got so hot that I eventually stopped sweating. The temp. hit 93 at 1 PM, reaching the high of 95 at 3 PM!! Ugh! -- Rob P.
